Privacy policy

This policy covers https://mileagebystate.com. A travel plan says where you will be and when; this site was built so that it never needs to know. The publisher is established in France, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to every visitor, and residents of US states with a consumer privacy law keep at least the rights listed here.

No cookie is set by this site, and nothing you type is stored on your device or sent to a server.

2. What stays in your browser

Destinations, dates, miles, meals, vehicle and price figures are processed by the page on your own device. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. The city list and the ZIP table are downloaded from this site the first time you search, the same files for everybody. Once you change a field, your inputs are written into the page address so that the share link works; whoever receives that link can read them.

3. What is processed

Hosting logs

GitHub, the host, records the IP address, time, page and browser of each request to keep the service secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Retention follows GitHub's policy.

Stability monitoring, without cookies

To find broken pages, the site loads Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited) in its cookie-free mode: errors, loading times and clicks that lead nowhere, per page view, with page content and inputs masked. Microsoft receives the technical data of the request, including the IP address. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Block clarity.ms or write to us to object.

E-mails

If you write, your address and message are kept to answer and deleted three years after the last exchange.

4. No sale, no sharing

We sell and share no personal information and build no profiles.

5. Transfers

GitHub, Inc. is in the United States; request data may be processed there under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection: write to contact@mileagebystate.com, answer within one month. Complaints: Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL) (https://www.cnil.fr).

7. Children

The site is meant for adults planning business travel and collects nothing from children under 13.
