Maryland per diem in FY2027 spans 8 GSA areas and 4 meal tiers. Montgomery and Prince George's counties belong to the District of Columbia area, at $192 to $295 a night with $92 of M&IE. Baltimore City pays $166 all year with $86, Ocean City $306 in June, July and August, Annapolis up to $169. Counties without a listing take the standard $113 and $68, all from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027. Where the meeting sits changes the claim even inside one metro: three nights from April 19 to 22, 2027 come to $1,207.00 at the federal maximum in Gaithersburg or Rockville under the DC rate, and $799.00 in Baltimore. Montgomery and Prince George's counties ride on the Washington rate
GSA does not give the Maryland suburbs of the capital a line of their own. The District of Columbia area is written as Washington plus three Virginia cities, two Virginia counties, and the counties of Montgomery and Prince George's in Maryland, so Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bowie and College Park are paid exactly as a downtown hotel would be: $295 in March, April, May and June, $287 in October and September, $203 from November to February and $192 in July and August. The meal allowance is $92, the top tier. Howard and Anne Arundel counties have their own lines, much lower, so the county of the duty station is worth checking before a team books rooms near a county line.
Ocean City outranks the capital for three months
In June, July and August the Worcester County area pays $306 a night, more than the DC area pays in any month of the year, its own top being $295. That makes Ocean City the dearest Maryland line on the strip at the top of this page. The other 9 months tell another story: $115, only $2 above the standard. The off-season figure did not change from FY2026, while the summer figure rose from $295. Cambridge and St. Michaels follow the same summer pattern on a smaller scale, $147 to $195.

Howard County: a modest room, a generous meal rate
Columbia is the odd line in the Maryland file. Its lodging maximum is $116, $3 above the standard, yet its M&IE is $86, the same as Baltimore City and above Annapolis at $80. On a five-day trip the meals alone come to $387.00 in Columbia against $306.00 at the standard rate. Baltimore City posted the largest rise of any flat Maryland area, from $150 to $166. Frederick (Frederick County), Hagerstown (Washington County) and Salisbury (Wicomico County) have no line and take the standard $113. Drivers pay the Central Atlantic (PADD 1B) price: $4.363 a gallon in the EIA survey of October 5, 2026. The District of Columbia page covers the same capital area seen from the city.
